At NoNameYet.dk you can now read about trivial non-happenings in a Danish Province. The contents do not seem all that interesting so far, but let us see what happens when this blogger finds her feet.
The site is purple. What can I say? There is no nice way of putting it. Purple, I tell you!
There’s a new blog at aargang54.dk.The blog claims to be about the consumer habits of a 54-year old woman with a mean streak. It is supposed to be liberating rather than trendsetting. Let’s see what happens about that. She’s also offering to receive sponsorships from some of her providers of clothes, electronics, food, books, buspasses etc. So far, there have been no takers, it seems. Likewise, she’s offering some advertising space for sale. It seems like a bit of a joke, more than anything. It would be all the more interesting/amusing, if any sponsorship was actually to come out of it.
I had used this design or variations of it in different websites, one of them being my home, but now I have changed all that again, and this site is the only one where I continue to use the theme. I liked it a lot, when I had first designed it, but soon it started to get at too busy and cluttered feeling, especially when I introduced other elements as eg. pictures, text boxes and so on. Not to mention what it looks like on a netbook. The actual area for text gets very narrow. One shudders to think what it might look like on an even smaller device. A mobile phone for instance. Still, you cannot get everything all at once.
… it is a four column, widget-friendly, WordPress Theme. In fact, it is so widgetfriendly, that you have to use widgets, or else it looks really boring. All the little boxes are widgets. If you wish to borrow the theme to play with it some more, feel free to do so. You can download a version of it here. It may not be exactly the current version, since this is very much a work in progress, but the basics should be there at any rate.
Nevertheless, on this site, I am creating a WordPress Theme, using code only. It was put to me that this could be a useful exercise. I manage many other domains and use graphics to enhance most of them, but for this particular site, no graphics, just code.
